INTRODUCTION

Community Finance Limited (CoFi) is a private financial service company registered under the Malawi Companies Act, 2013 and licensed by Reserve Bank of Malawi. It is a fast growing micro-finance institution headquartered in Lilongwe, Malawi; while its presence and operations are currently spread to over 15 districts. It is an emerging leader in agricultural financing and sustainable micro-finance services to SMEs and personal markets. The Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tradeline Corporation Group Ltd. Cofi’s operations are focused on the development of regulated innovative financial solutions targeted mainly at the un-banked and under-banked sectors of the economy. Our Goal is to create opportunities for the people who are economically active but are excluded from the formal lending mechanisms.

COMPANY HISTORY

Community Finance Limited was incorporated in 2012 after observing an overwheling need for financial services by people in the formal and marginalised communities who have never had an opportunity to access banking services. Initially, CoFi operated asĀ  a licensed Microcredit Agency. on 8th August, 2019. CoFi was upgraded to non-deposit taking micro-finance institution by Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM). This development was as a result of its strong Institutional Corporate Governance, Risk management framework and attaining Capital adequecy requirements set by RBM. This status presented an opportunity for CoFi to provide both the technology and specially formulated products to its clients and enhance delivery channels.

The Company shall strive to strengthen its position in the chosen markets in order to enhance its portfoilio of investments.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of CoFi is to uplift economically low-come citizen especially women and youth who have the potential to grow their ideas into larger enterprises through innovative micro-finance services.
